Would you like to be part of an adventure in the high desert of the Colorado Plateau, experiencing an international sporting event up close and being a big part of why endurance runners cross the finish line in one of the world’s toughest footraces?
Volunteering for the Grand to Grand Ultra will require you to commit 10 consecutive days at the end of September and be part of a unique team which manages this world famous race.
The days can be long for the participants, but they are equally long for the volunteers and staff who are working to ensure the safety and smooth running of the race.
But the rewards for doing this are guaranteed! You will also participate in the adventure each day and feel part of a special journey.
In addition to the experience, our volunteers are looked after as part of the G2G family. We will provide you with accommodation in Kanab for the two nights before the race and the night after the race. During the race, you will be provided with three meals every day including a cooked dinner supplied to camp each evening. You will attend the Welcome Dinner and Awards Dinner in Kanab and the Last Supper at Camp 1 at a remote location on the north rim of the Grand Canyon. You will be kitted out with G2G clothing including our technical tees, outerwear, caps, and Buffs. And we will take care of your transportation from Las Vegas to Kanab.
Look what some past volunteers have said:
"Volunteering for G2G 2023 was an incredible and life-changing experience. Camping in breath-taking landscapes, being surrounded by elite and inspiring athletes, and building lifelong friendships are just a few of the highlights from the week. I came away so inspired that I've signed up to run next year. Thanks for everything G2G!" - Evan Gikas (Volunteer G2G 2023)
“This demanding race creates a rollercoaster of emotions for every athlete as each participant has their own story and reason for attempting this challenge. Being able to provide support and encouragement so they can reach their goal each day and ultimately the finish line creates an emotional connection that keeps us coming back year after year.” - Karen and Russ Mullen (G2G 2013 Finishers, Volunteers 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023)
“I am soooo glad I volunteered! What an experience!! 10 days at G2G 2023 gave me such insight into what it takes to put on a great race, the chance to work with an incredibly awesome group of humans, & the opportunity to witness the resilience of other awesome humans!” – Doug White G2G 2018 Finisher, Volunteer G2G 2023)
"I was at the last camp watching the last competitors arrive. I felt a sudden nostalgia for the idea that the adventure would soon end. In life everything comes to an end. It made me sad. In the middle of the night as I got up, leaving the tent and raised my eyes to the sky and I felt dizzy while contemplating the Milky Way... I had my answer, the universe is not finite." - Laurent Untereiner (G2G 2017 finisher and Volunteer G2G 2023)
